Dick's Classic Garage was a special museum in San Marcos, Texas. It was a place where you could see many amazing old cars. A businessman and car collector named Dick Burdick started this museum in 2009. He loved cars and wanted to share his collection with others. The museum closed its doors on December 31, 2018.
The museum showed off American cars and cool car-related items. These items were mostly from the 1930s to the 1950s. One very special car on display was a 1948 Tucker Sedan. This particular Tucker car (chassis number 1050) had barely been driven, showing only 0.4 miles on its odometer. The museum also had a special area where old cars could be fixed up and made new again.

The Central Texas Museum of Automotive History was another car museum. It was located in Rosanky, Texas. Dick Burdick, the same person who started Dick's Classic Garage, also founded this museum. This museum was open from 1980 until 2012.
Amazing Car Collection
This museum had a large collection of cars. It featured both American and European cars from the 20th century. The museum especially focused on cars made before 1929. Among its 125 fully restored cars were famous brands like Stanley Steamers, Duesenbergs, and Jaguars. The museum also had a huge library filled with books about cars.
Why the Museum Closed
In 2018, the Central Texas Museum announced it would close. The main reason for its closing was to help fund the newer Dick's Classic Garage. About 90 of the cars from the collection were sold at an auction. The rest of the cars were moved to Dick's Classic Garage. This plan was meant to help the new museum stay open for a much longer time. It was a way to make sure the love for classic cars could continue to be shared.
