Early Life and Political Start
Domingo Díaz Arosemena began his career in public service. From 1910 to 1912, he served as the Mayor of Panamá District. This role meant he was in charge of the main city area.
Later, in 1932, he was chosen for a special role. The National Assembly elected him as the first "presidential designate." This meant he was next in line to become president if something happened to the current one. He held this position until 1934.
Becoming President
Díaz Arosemena became the President of Panama on August 7, 1948. He was a member of the Liberal Party. During his time as president, he worked to lead the country.
He served as president for almost a year. His term ended on July 28, 1949, when he stepped down from his role. He passed away less than a month later.
