Dominic Oduro, born on August 13, 1985, is a professional footballer from Ghana. He played as a forward for many years. Today, Oduro is an assistant coach for the Charlotte FC Academy team, which plays in the United Premier Soccer League.

Dominic Oduro's Early Career and Education
Oduro began his football journey in Ghana. He played for both Prempeh College and the University of Ghana. In 2004, he moved to the United States to attend Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).
At VCU, Oduro played in 41 matches. He scored 18 goals and made 5 assists. In 2004, he was named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year. He also earned a spot on the Third Team All-American list. Oduro helped his college team, the VCU Rams, reach the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. This was the highest VCU had ever gone in the tournament. In 2005, he also played for Richmond Kickers Future. He scored 16 goals in just 13 games for them.
Dominic Oduro's Club Career
Playing for FC Dallas
In 2006, FC Dallas chose Oduro in the second round of the 2006 MLS SuperDraft. He played his first game on June 28, 2006. He scored his first goal in Major League Soccer (MLS) on July 8, 2006. During his three years with FC Dallas, fans and coaches were impressed by his amazing speed and hard work. He often came into games in the second half to boost the team's attack. He played in 70 league matches for FC Dallas. His best season there was in 2008, when he scored 5 goals in 25 matches.
Time with New York Red Bulls
On January 12, 2009, Oduro was traded to New York Red Bulls. This was part of a deal that sent another player, Dave van den Bergh, to FC Dallas.
Joining Houston Dynamo
Less than five months later, on May 27, 2009, New York traded Oduro to Houston Dynamo. He made his first start for Houston on July 1, 2009, in a cup game. Houston won that match 2-0. Oduro stayed with Houston for the 2009 and 2010 MLS seasons. After the 2010 season, he tried to play overseas but returned to Houston in March 2011.
Playing for Chicago Fire
On March 23, 2011, Oduro was traded to Chicago Fire. He did very well with Chicago, scoring 12 goals in his first season. For his great performance in 2011, he received the Supporters Player of the Year award from the Chicago Fire fans.
Moving to Columbus Crew
Oduro was traded to Columbus Crew on February 1, 2013. He played for Columbus for two seasons, from 2013 to 2014. During this time, he played 43 matches and scored 13 goals in all competitions.
With Toronto FC
On June 6, 2014, Oduro was traded to Toronto FC.
Playing for Montreal Impact
He then joined Montreal Impact on January 27, 2015. He played for Montreal from 2015 to 2018. He appeared in 108 matches and scored 18 goals across all competitions for the team.
Short time with San Jose Earthquakes
On August 8, 2018, Oduro was traded to San Jose Earthquakes.
Final Club: Charlotte Independence
On February 15, 2019, Oduro signed with Charlotte Independence. This team plays in the USL Championship. He was released by Charlotte at the end of the 2019 season.
Dominic Oduro's International Career
On February 26, 2012, Oduro was called to play for the Ghana national team. He made his debut for Ghana against Chile on February 29, 2012. The game took place in Chester, Pennsylvania, USA.
