Donkey Kong Country was an animated TV show from France and Canada. It was based on the popular video game series. The show first aired in France on September 4, 1996. It then came to the United States on August 15, 1997. It was first shown on the Fox Box and later moved to Fox Family. The series ran until July 7, 2000.
About the Show
The story of Donkey Kong Country is set on Kongo Bongo Island. The main character, Donkey Kong, finds a special, magical coconut. This coconut is called the Crystal Coconut. It has amazing powers! It can grant wishes and answer any question.
The Crystal Coconut and King K. Rool
The main villain of the show is King K. Rool. He is always trying to steal the powerful Crystal Coconut. King K. Rool also wants to take over Kongo Bongo Island. Even though he tries very hard in every episode, he never manages to steal the Crystal Coconut from Donkey Kong.
From TV to Video Game
Some ideas from the TV show later appeared in the video games. For example, the Crystal Coconut was featured in the Nintendo 64 game Donkey Kong 64. This shows how the TV series influenced the games.
