Dr. Zitbag's Transylvania Pet Shop is a fun animated TV show. It was first shown from 1994 to 1997. In France, it was called Dr. Globule.
The show was created by Tony Barnes. It was produced by Philippe Mounier's company, PMMP, and Fairwater Films. The series has 65 episodes in total.
It first aired in France on a channel called TF1. Later, it was made available in English for other countries. In the United Kingdom, it was shown on ITV. The first episode aired on June 13, 1994. The show finished on August 21, 1997. It ran for four series. Danny Chang and Tony Barnes created the music for the show.
You might have seen a comic strip version of the show too! It was in Buster magazine from 1994 to 1996. The TV show was also repeated on Nickelodeon in the early 2000s. It was also shown in Australia on Nickelodeon and later on Cartoon Network.

What the Show is About
Dr. Zitbag used to work at a regular pet shop in Transylvania. But he wasn't very good at selling pets! So, he got fired.
He decided to open his own pet shop. He found an old, spooky castle to set it up in. There, he met Horrifido, a skeleton dog. Horrifido became his assistant.
Dr. Zitbag is a mad scientist. He uses his crazy inventions to create all sorts of weird and wonderful pets. He hopes to make a lot of money from them!
Main Characters
Here are some of the main characters you'll meet in the show:
- Dr. Sidney Zitbag (voiced by Christian Rodska) - He's the main character. Dr. Zitbag is a bit of a mad scientist. He dreams of being the best pet shop owner in the world. After losing his old job, he buys a haunted castle. He then starts his own pet shop, making strange new pets in his lab. But his plans often go wrong, leading to funny mishaps!
- Horrifido (voiced by Max Andre) - Horrifido was once a normal dog named Fido. He belonged to the castle's old owner. Now, he's a skeleton dog with green, bat-like wings for ears! He helps Dr. Zitbag with his experiments. Sometimes, Horrifido even wears a pink bow collar.
- The Exorsisters (voiced by Nicolette McKenzie) - These twin sisters are Dr. Zitbag's neighbors. They look a bit like the bride of Frankenstein. Dr. Zitbag often tries to impress them. The sisters, Sinista and Bimbella, often argue with each other. Sinista has purple streaks in her hair and usually ignores Dr. Zitbag. Bimbella has white streaks and is more willing to give him a chance.
- Zombunny - Zombunny is a zombified rabbit. He doesn't move much. Dr. Zitbag often uses Zombunny in his experiments. He might even toss him aside, saying, "Excuse me, Zombunny."
- Officer Deadbeat (voiced by Kerry Shale) - He is the local police officer in Transylvania. He doesn't like Dr. Zitbag. Officer Deadbeat thinks the doctor is a trickster. His head floats where his neck should be! He wants to arrest Dr. Zitbag for good. His big dream is to turn the old haunted castle into a new police station. His current one is too small!
- Professor Sherman Vermin (voiced by ?) - He is Dr. Zitbag's rival. The Exorsisters sometimes ask him for help. This makes Dr. Zitbag very jealous.
