Dub, also known as Duff, was a king of Scotland. He became king in 962 after King Indulf died. Dub ruled for about five years, until 967. After him, Cuílen became king.

Dub was the son of King Malcolm I. His mother was probably Bethoc. Born around 915, he was almost 50 years old when he took the throne. He had two children: Kenneth III, who later became king, and Grimus mac Duibh.

Dub's Time as King

Dub's time as king began in 962. This was after the death of Indulf, the previous king of the Scots. Dub's rule lasted until 967.

After Dub, Cuilén became king. Cuilén ruled until 971. Then, Dub's own son, Kenneth III, became the next king of Scotland.

The End of Dub's Reign

King Dub died in 967. He was about 52 years old at the time. He left behind his two children.

The exact place where King Dub was buried is not known today. However, it is thought that he was most likely buried in Iona, Scotland, shortly after his death in 967.
