Ducktales: Treasure of the Golden Suns is the exciting first adventure of the animated TV series DuckTales. It introduces us to the rich and adventurous Scrooge McDuck and his three grand-nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie. This special pilot episode sets the stage for all the amazing treasure hunts and mysteries that follow in the series.

The Adventure Begins: A Stolen Map

The story kicks off in Duckburg. Donald Duck decides to join the Navy, which means his three nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, need a new place to stay. They move in with their super-rich great-uncle, Scrooge McDuck, at his huge mansion. There, they meet Duckworth, Scrooge's loyal butler. The boys are a bit disappointed to be stuck sleeping in the attic.

A few days later, the nephews get a letter from Donald about his Navy adventures. They try to follow Uncle Scrooge around, but Duckworth keeps them from exploring. The boys manage to sneak out of the mansion. They follow Scrooge to his famous Money Bin, a giant vault where he keeps all his money. Inside, they find a cool model boat in a museum display.

Meanwhile, a sneaky villain named El Capitan hires the Beagle Boys. These three brothers, Bigtime, Bankjob, and Burger, are known for their mischief. Their mission? To steal that very model boat from Scrooge's Money Bin!

Back at the mansion, the nephews overhear Scrooge saying some not-so-nice things about them. Feeling sad, they decide to run away. As they leave, they spot the Beagle Boys breaking into the Money Bin. The nephews bravely decide to stop them. The Beagle Boys have a map of the building, but they get distracted when they see the kids. Bigtime orders his brothers to catch them. Unfortunately, the Beagle Boys escape with the boat model.

The nephews return to the mansion with the Beagle Boys' map. But Scrooge blames them for the stolen boat and sends them back to the attic. Not giving up, the nephews use their Junior Woodchucks manual. With its help, they build a glider and fly right out of the mansion! They discover that El Capitan is explaining to the Beagle Boys that the model boat is actually a secret map to a hidden treasure. The nephews manage to get the boat back and escape to Scrooge's candy factory. The Beagle Boys end up covered in chocolate! Scrooge realizes his mistake and says sorry to his nephews for not trusting them.

The Hunt for Gold: Ronguay's Flood

Back at the mansion, the nephews figure out the secret code on the map. But they won't tell Uncle Scrooge what it says unless he lets them join the treasure hunt! Just then, Glomgold, Scrooge's millionaire rival, shows up. He offers to buy Scrooge's candy factory for $2,000,000. Glomgold then makes a big bet: he bets he can make more money than Scrooge in two weeks. If he loses, he'll eat Scrooge's hat!

Uncle Scrooge and his nephews rent a cheap plane. They fly all the way to South America, to a place called Ronguay. When they land, the local people are trying to leave in a hurry. They warn about "Monsopies" coming. Uncle Scrooge thinks it's some kind of festival.

The ducks get a llama to help carry their bags and supplies. They set up a camp. Huey, always prepared, reads his Junior Woodchucks manual. He discovers that "Monsopies" is not a festival at all! It's a massive flood that happens every 100 years. It covers the entire country with water!

When the Monsopies flood begins, their supplies are washed away in the mud. The ducks find shelter in a cave. But the villains, El Capitan and Glomgold, block the exit with a huge stone. Luckily, the ducks find another way out. They also discover a wrecked boat full of gold! After fixing the boat, they use the rising floodwaters to sail out of Ronguay and escape.

Out at sea, El Capitan and Glomgold catch up to them. They take the golden boat and leave Scrooge and the nephews in a small life raft. Glomgold, thinking he's won, tosses one golden coin from the treasure to Scrooge. But then, the boat with all the gold sinks and is destroyed! Since Uncle Scrooge now has a golden coin from the treasure, he has technically earned the most money. Glomgold has lost his bet and has to eat Scrooge's hat!
