Dungeons & Dragons (often called D&D) is a very popular fantasy role-playing game. It lets players create their own characters and go on exciting adventures in a world filled with magic, monsters, and brave heroes. Players use their imagination to tell stories together, guided by a Dungeon Master.

What is Dungeons & Dragons?
D&D is a tabletop game where players pretend to be characters like brave warriors, clever rogues, or powerful wizards. One person, called the Dungeon Master (DM), acts as the storyteller and referee. The DM describes the world, the challenges, and the creatures the players meet.
How Do You Play D&D?
Players describe what their characters do, like exploring a dark dungeon or talking to a mysterious elf. They use dice to decide if their actions are successful, like hitting a monster or picking a lock. The game is all about teamwork and making choices that affect the story.
The Original Game
The very first version of Dungeons & Dragons came out in 1974. It was created by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson. This game started a whole new way of playing and storytelling that many other games have copied since.

Because D&D is so popular, its stories and characters have inspired many movies and TV shows.
