A Look at the School's History
ESC Clermont Business School was founded in 1919 in the city of Clermont-Ferrand. Since then, many students have graduated from its programs.
For a short time, in 2013, ESC Clermont joined with three other French schools to form a bigger group called France Business School. But in 2015, ESC Clermont decided to become independent again.
The school is also a founding member of the ENBS Consortium. This is a special group of universities and business schools across Europe. It's also part of the NIBES network, which connects 20 business and economic schools around the world.
In 2016, the school started a foundation. This foundation helps students from all backgrounds get a good education. It also supports new ideas, helps students start their own businesses, and prepares them for jobs.
What Are Accreditations?
ESC Clermont is a Grande école. In France, these are very special higher education schools. They are separate from regular public universities. Think of them like the Ivy League schools in the United States or Oxbridge in the UK.
Getting into a Grande école is very competitive. Students who graduate from these schools often get important jobs. They work in government, management, and big companies in France.
Grandes Écoles usually have smaller classes than public universities. Many of their courses are taught in English. They also offer chances to study abroad and work as interns in other countries. They have strong connections with businesses and government.
ESC Clermont is a member of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles (CGE). Out of about 250 business schools in France, only 39 are members of the CGE. This shows how special ESC Clermont is.
The degrees from ESC Clermont are approved by the CGE and the French Ministry of National Education. The school also has "triple accreditation." This means it has received top approvals from three important international groups:
- The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)
- Association of MBAs (AMBA)
- European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD)
These accreditations show that ESC Clermont meets high standards for business education around the world.
