Eager is an exciting science-fiction book for kids. It was written by Helen Fox and first came out in 2003. The story is about a special robot named Eager. He lives in a future world where a big company called LifeCorp controls everything. This book was even nominated for an award!

What's the Story About?

The story takes place in Britain at the end of the 21st century. It's all about an amazing new robot, EGR3, who is called Eager. Unlike other robots, Eager can think and learn just like a human!

He is very curious and can even feel emotions. Eager can feel wonder, excitement, and sadness. His inventor sends him to help an older robot named Grumps. Grumps works as a butler for the Bell family. Grumps is old and can't be fixed anymore, but the family loves him very much.

Mr. Bell works for a powerful company called LifeCorp. This company makes all the robots that help people with everything they need. Mr. Bell's children, Gavin and Fleur, discover a secret group. This group is against LifeCorp.

There's also a big problem: some very advanced robots, called BDC4s, are acting strangely. It seems like a robot rebellion might be starting! Gavin, Fleur, and Eager get pulled into a huge adventure. Eager's special abilities are put to the test. He tries to figure out what it truly means to be alive.

More Adventures with Eager
