Ebenezer Forrest was an English lawyer who was active around the year 1774. He lived in London, on George Street.

What He Wrote

Ebenezer Forrest was not just a lawyer; he also wrote plays and books.

His Opera

He wrote an opera called Momus turn'd Fabulist, or Vulcan's Wedding. An opera is a play where most of the words are sung. This opera was performed at John Rich's Lincoln's Inn Theatre. It first showed on December 3, 1729, and was performed several more times after that.

His Travel Journal

Forrest also wrote a book about a trip he took with his friends. The book was titled An Account of what seemed most remarkable in the five days' peregrination of the five following persons, viz. Messrs. Tothall, Scott, Hogarth, Thornhill, and F. A "peregrination" means a journey or a trip.

This journey started on May 27, 1732, and ended on May 31 of the same month. The book was published in London in 1782. It was special because his friend, the artist William Hogarth, drew pictures for it. The book was later printed again in 1872, along with a different version by William Gostling.
