Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show is a 2009 Canadian-American animated adventure comedy television film based on the animated series Ed, Edd n Eddy, serving as the series finale. It was produced by a.k.a. Cartoon and premiered on Cartoon Network on November 8, 2009. The film was directed by series creator Danny Antonucci, who co-wrote the film with Jono Howard, Mike Kubat, Rachel Connor, and Stacy Warnick. The movie centers on the Eds' journey to find Eddy's unnamed (and previously unseen) older brother after their most recent scam leaves the Cul-de-Sac in a state of devastation.

Antonucci first announced a "90 minute special" in 2006, and its title in 2007. Originally set to air in 2007, its premiere date was then moved to 2008, the year it was completed in, and was finally set to release in 2009. Due to the movie, the series' sixth season was shortened, as Antonucci and the team at a.k.a. Cartoon wanted to focus more on the production of the film. The score is composed by Patric Caird, who also composed the music for the series. The voice cast features all of the series' voice actors, while series voice director Terry Klassen was cast as Eddy's brother. The film was a success in the ratings for Cartoon Network, posting double and triple digit ratings delivery gains and was met with a positive reception. It was also released on the US iTunes Store.

Plot

The Eds' latest scam has backfired heavily and left the Cul-de-Sac in a state of devastation. The other children have been severely wounded and decide to confront the Eds violently. After narrowly escaping, the Eds decide to search for Eddy's older brother for protection. However, Eddy does not actually know where his brother lives.

The other children split up to find the Eds. Jonny and Plank don their respective superhero alter-egos "Captain Melonhead" and "Splinter the Wonderwood" as they travel in a city bus. Rolf leaves with overflowing luggage riding on the back of his pig Wilfred. Kevin and Nazz travel via Kevin's prized bicycle. Jimmy and Sarah are the only kids to not have been involved or affected by the scam, but they seek to have a picnic and watch the Eds get beaten up. They accidentally stumble upon the Kanker sisters—Lee, Marie, and May—who discover what the other kids plan on doing to the Eds. The Kankers go off to protect their "boyfriends" from the other children's wrath while enslaving Jimmy and Sarah.

Meanwhile, the Eds are left to wander aimlessly under Eddy's direction. In a cow field, Edd profiles Eddy's brother and reasons that given his con artistry, he would likely be found at a place involving pranks. Ed uses one of his decade-old comic books to suggest that the group travel to the Lemon Brook Gag Factory through a sunflower field. Upon arriving, they find the factory has been abandoned. Ed and Eddy play with the leftover gags while Edd searches for clues in the office.

After leaving the factory, Eddy claims that his brother was once a "whaler", so Edd deduces that he must live by sea. Edd then builds a boat and the Eds ride on it over the river to find Eddy's brother. The river ends in a swamp, where the boat is destroyed. Ed and Eddy prank Edd into believing that they sank to their demises in quicksand. The two laugh at him for falling for their prank. Infuriated, Edd decides to return home and face the kids' wrath. Ed bawls over their damaged friendship while Eddy is initially enraged by this, but then cries and apologizes for the prank. Edd forgives him and the Eds continue their journey.

Meanwhile, Jimmy and Sarah manage to escape from the Kankers by hiding in the sunflower field. They continue their journey with Wilfred, who has ended up separated from Rolf. Later in the evening, the Kankers confront and abduct Nazz, Kevin, and Rolf. The next morning, the Eds come across a coastal theme park called "Mondo A-Go Go", which Edd links to a postcard Eddy has from his brother. The Eds conclude that they have successfully located his brother, living in a trailer resembling a whale.

Soon, everyone else, except for Jonny and Plank, arrive as well. Eddy then knocks on the trailer door and his brother reveals himself. Although his brother originally seems to be everything that the kids imagined, he reveals himself to be physically abusive towards Eddy without reason, leaving everyone appalled. When Edd tries to interfere, Eddy's brother uses Eddy to slam Edd into the ground, prompting everyone to defend Eddy. Ed sends the trailer door flying into Eddy's brother and knocks him out.

Expressing remorse over his past actions, Eddy tearfully reveals that he lied about his brother in an unsuccessful attempt to gain admiration and social acceptance. Touched by Eddy's open confession and apology, the kids forgive the Eds and accept them as their friends. Jonny and Plank subsequently arrive and, without giving anyone a chance to explain what happened, quickly attack the Eds. In response, the other kids attack Jonny and Plank. Kevin subsequently invites everyone over for jawbreakers and the children, except for Jonny and Plank, return home together while the Kankers drag Eddy's brother into his trailer. The film ends with Edd putting a label that says "The End" on the screen.

In the post-credits scene, Jonny and Plank, enraged after everyone turned against them, vow revenge and replace their superhero personas with the villainous alter-egos "The Gourd" and "Timber the Dark Shard". However, Plank tells Jonny that there is no time left in the movie, with Jonny being oblivious to his presence within the film.
