Eldridge Everett Mayweather (born November 26, 1909 – died February 19, 1966) was an American baseball player. He played as a first baseman in the Negro leagues from 1935 to 1942.
About Ed Mayweather
Ed Mayweather was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. He started his professional baseball career in 1935. His first team was the famous Kansas City Monarchs. He played with the Monarchs until 1938.
After leaving the Monarchs, Ed joined the New Orleans–St. Louis Stars. He played for this team for three seasons, from 1939 to 1941. He finished his baseball career in 1942 with the New York Black Yankees.
Ed was a very talented player. He was chosen to play in the special East–West All-Star Game twice. This game featured the best players from the Negro leagues. He played in the All-Star Game in 1937 and again in 1940.
Ed Mayweather passed away in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1966. He was 56 years old.
