Edward Daniel Stone (born August 21, 1909 – died March 20, 1983) was a talented American baseball player. People often called him "Ace". He played as an outfielder in the Negro leagues during the 1930s and 1940s.

Early Life and High School
Ed Stone was born in a place called Black Cat, Delaware. When he was young, he went to Howard High School. He was a really good athlete there, showing his skills in different sports.
Playing in the Negro Leagues
His professional baseball journey started in 1933. He joined a team called the Bacharach Giants. Ed was known for two main things: his amazing fielding (catching and throwing the ball well) and his powerful hitting, often called a "heavy bat."
Over the years, Ed Stone played for several different teams. These included the Newark Eagles, the New York Black Yankees, and the Philadelphia Stars. He was an important player during his time in the Negro leagues.
After the Negro Leagues
Ed played his last season in the Negro leagues in 1946 with the Philadelphia Stars. But his baseball career didn't stop there! He continued to play professionally in Mexico until the early 1950s.
Ed Stone passed away in Bronx, New York in 1983. He was 73 years old.
