Edith Wisah Mukuvilani, also known as Edith Wisa, is a talented Kenyan volleyball player. Born on July 20, 1994, she has proudly represented her country as part of the Kenya women's national volleyball team. Edith has even competed for Kenya in two Olympic Games!

Early Life and Volleyball Journey
Edith Mukuvilani grew up in Kakamega, a town in Kenya. She attended school in Lugulu. Her professional volleyball career began in the 2013-2014 season. She started playing for the Kenya Prisons team.
Becoming a National Star
In 2018, Edith was part of the "Malkia Strikers" team. This is the nickname for Kenya's national women's volleyball team. They traveled to Japan to compete in the 2018 Women's World Championships. Japheth Munala was their head coach at the time.
African Games Success
The Kenyan women's team won gold at the Volleyball at the 2019 African Games in 2019. Edith Mukuvilani was a key player on that winning team. That same year, she moved from the Kenya Prisons team to the KCB team. She quickly became the captain of the KCB team within two years.
Olympic Dreams Come True
In 2021, Edith was chosen for the Kenyan team heading to the postponed 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. She and Lorine Chebet were the main "middle blockers" for the team. This was a huge moment, as it was Kenya's first time qualifying for the Olympics since 2003! The team had many experienced players, including Jane Wacu, Emmaculate Chemtai, Sharon Chepchumba, Mercy Moin, Leonida Kasaya, Lorine Chebet, and Agripina Kundu. They even trained with a coach from Brazil, Luizomar de Moura.
Continued Success and Paris 2024
Edith continued to play for the KCB Bank volleyball team in 2024. Japheth Munala returned as the national team's head coach. He once again selected Edith Mukuvilani for the Africa Volleyball Federation qualifiers. Kenya qualified for the Olympics again in 2024. Edith proudly made the team for the Paris Games, marking her second Olympic appearance!
