Early Life and Career
Edward Buzzell was born in Brooklyn, New York City. Before working in movies, he performed in vaudeville shows. Vaudeville was a popular type of entertainment with different acts like comedy, music, and dance. He also acted on Broadway, which is where live theater shows are performed in New York City.
In 1929, Edward Buzzell got his first big movie role. He starred in the film Little Johnny Jones. He also appeared in some short films. These early films sometimes used new technologies like Vitaphone and two-strip Technicolor.
Directing and Producing
Edward Buzzell started writing screenplays in the early 1930s. A screenplay is the script for a movie. He soon became a director, which means he was in charge of making the movies.

He then married Sara Clark in 1934. His third marriage was to actress Lorraine Miller in 1949.
Edward Buzzell passed away in Los Angeles in 1985. He was 89 years old. His family included other people involved in the entertainment industry. His nephew, Loring Buzzell, was a music publisher. His niece-in-law, Lu Ann Simms, was a singer. His niece, Gloria Joyce Buzzell, was married to Harold Hecht, a film producer who won an Academy Award.
