Edwin Hayes (1819–1904) was a talented English and Irish artist. He was famous for painting amazing pictures of the sea, ships, and coastlines. This type of artwork is called marine art. He used both oil paints and watercolours to create his beautiful artworks.
Life and Art Journey
Hayes was born in Bristol, England. But he grew up in Dublin, Ireland, where his dad ran a hotel. He loved art and studied at the Dublin Society Art School. This is where he learned many important art skills.
He showed his paintings for the very first time in 1842 at the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin. He stayed in Dublin for about ten years, painting and learning. Later, he moved to London, England.

Edwin Hayes showed his artwork in many important places. These included:
