Edwin Richfield (born September 11, 1921 – died August 2, 1990) was a talented English actor. He was known for his many roles in British television shows and films, often playing villains or serious characters.

Edwin Richfield's Acting Career
Edwin Richfield began his acting journey in 1949. He quickly became a familiar face on British television. One of his early starring roles was in the TV series Interpol Calling in 1959. He also played the main character in The Odd Man, a series from Granada Television in the early 1960s.
Famous TV Appearances
Richfield was especially well-known for his frequent guest roles in the popular 1960s spy series The Avengers. He often played a villain in the show. What's really cool is that he was the only actor, besides the main star Patrick Macnee, to appear in all six seasons of The Avengers!
He also appeared in many other well-known TV shows. These include Doctor Who (in the stories The Sea Devils and The Twin Dilemma), Danger Man, Z-Cars, UFO, and All Creatures Great and Small.
Film Roles
Edwin Richfield also had a successful career in movies. Some of his notable film credits include science fiction films like X the Unknown, Quatermass 2, and Quatermass and the Pit. He also appeared in The Camp on Blood Island and The Face of Fu Manchu.
Edwin Richfield's Personal Life
Edwin Richfield met actress Valerie Jeanne Wilkinson, known as Jan Holden, while they were both performing in stage plays. They got married in 1952. At the time, they were both acting in a stage version of The Blue Lamp.
Edwin and Jan had three children together: twin girls and a son named Simon. Their marriage ended in 1973. Edwin Richfield continued acting until 1988, and he passed away in 1990.
