Efrat Mishori (born on May 5, 1964) is a talented Israeli poet, writer, artist, and filmmaker. She has won several important awards for her work, including the Prime Minister's Award in 2002 and the Landau Award in 2018.

About Efrat Mishori
Efrat Mishori was born in a city called Tiberias in Israel. In the 1990s, she worked as a critic, writing about art and books. She studied literature at Tel Aviv University and earned her PhD in 2006. Her special project for her PhD looked at how places are shown in poetry.
Her Books and Poems
Efrat Mishori's very first book was for children, called The Book of Dreams, which came out in 1988. She not only wrote the story but also drew the pictures for it!
Her first collection of poems, Poems 1990–1994, was published in 1994. It was a big success and won an award for new writers. A famous critic said it was one of the most important poetry books of its time.
Since then, Efrat Mishori has published six more collections of poems. She received the Hebrew Authors Creativity Award in 2002 and the Haaretz short story award in 2004. In 2017, her book Married Woman and Single Poems won the Shlomo Tanai award. Her poems and stories have appeared in many newspapers, magazines, and literary journals.
Other Creative Work
In 1996, Efrat Mishori created and performed a special one-woman show called "I Am Poetry's Model." This show was based on her poems and was one of the first "spoken word" performances in Israel. It included video art and dance, and people said it was very new and exciting.
Efrat Mishori has also taught writing and performance at the School of Visual Arts in Jerusalem. She has led workshops at universities and worked as a Visiting Author for the Ministry of Education. She helps edit other poets' books and is on the board of a literature magazine called NanoPoetica. In 2011, she started a literary club called "Theater of the Traveling Text." Through this club, she holds workshops and meetings with women poets and writers. She is known as a leader in a new style of poetry in Israel.
Efrat Mishori also helped start a publishing company called "Low Flame 77" with the magazine Iton 77. This company focuses on publishing poetry by women.
In 2014, Efrat Mishori started a film production company called Gypsycam with filmmaker Dana Goldberg. They make experimental and independent cinema. They have produced several short films together. In 2018, they released a full-length movie called Death of a Poetess.
In 2018, Efrat Mishori was honored with the Landau Arts Award for her contributions to the arts.
Personal Life
In 1989, Efrat Mishori married Israeli artist Yakov Mishori. They later divorced in 2014. They have one son together. Efrat Mishori lives in Tel Aviv.
