Eggplant Wizard is a famous bad guy, also called an 'antagonist,' in the Kid Icarus video game series. He looks like a big, one-eyed eggplant that can walk and talk, like a person. Even though his look has changed a bit over the years, he always stays a giant eggplant.
He carries a magic staff. He uses it to shoot special eggplant projectiles at Pit. Pit is the hero you play as in the game. If Pit gets hit by these eggplants, he turns into an eggplant himself! A nurse has to help him turn back to normal. Many players find Eggplant Wizard very tough to beat. He is known as one of the most frustrating enemies in video games. He first appeared in the 1986 game Kid Icarus. He is also a big part of the games that came after it.
Eggplant Wizard's Look and Creation
Eggplant Wizard first showed up in the 1986 Nintendo Entertainment System game Kid Icarus. The creator of Kid Icarus, Toru Osawa, really liked eggplants. He said he drew the Eggplant Wizard to celebrate a special bonus he got one summer.
Video game designers Shigeru Miyamoto and Masahiro Sakurai both think Eggplant Wizard is important. They believe he helped make the Kid Icarus series popular for a long time.
Eggplant Wizard in TV Shows
Eggplant Wizard also appears in the TV show Captain N: The Game Master. In this show, Michael Donovan provides his voice. He is one of the main bad guys in the show. He often works with other villains like Mother Brain from Metroid and King Hippo from Punch-Out!!. Eggplant Wizard and King Hippo are often shown together. They usually provide funny moments in Mother Brain's group.
