His Work in Journalism
In 1958, Eitan joined the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), which is Israel's army. He became a reporter for the military newspaper called Bamahane. During his time in the army, he met Yitzhak Rabin, who was a commander at the time. They became friends.

In 1985, Yitzhak Rabin, who was then the Minister of Defense (in charge of the army), asked Eitan to be his special media adviser. Eitan helped Rabin talk to the public and the news. When Rabin left the government in 1990, Eitan went back to Yedioth Ahronoth.

This included trips for the Oslo Accords, which were peace talks. He also helped when Rabin received the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts toward peace.
After Prime Minister Rabin passed away, Eitan went back to being a journalist. He wrote several books. He also worked with other writers like Michael Bar-Zohar and Ze'ev Schiff on some books.
