How El Puerto Was Created

El Puerto became a corregimiento on March 7, 1997. This happened because of a special rule called Law 10. Later, two more rules, Law 5 (from January 19, 1998) and Law 69 (from October 28, 1998), helped to make sure everything was set up correctly for El Puerto. Before 2010, in the year 2000, the population of El Puerto was 476 people.
