About El Sauzalito

El Sauzalito is more than just one town. The municipality it belongs to includes several smaller communities nearby. These communities are places like El Sauzal, Wichí, Tartagal, Fortin Belgrano, and Tres Pozos. A new bridge over the Teuco River is planned to be built near Tres Pozos.

Population and Importance

Even though El Sauzalito has just over 2,000 people, it is very important for the region. It is the most populated place north of Castelli. This is a very large area, covering more than 20,000 square kilometers in the Chaco Province.

Location and Distances

El Sauzalito is quite far from other major cities. It is about 285 kilometers from Castelli. Castelli is another important city in the province. The capital city of the province is even further away. It is about 550 kilometers from El Sauzalito.

Original Inhabitants

The Wichí nation are the original people who live in this area. They have lived along the banks of the Teuco River for a very long time. Further east from this region, you can find the Bermejo River.
