Elaine Cassidy was born in Raheny, Ireland. When she was three years old, her family moved to Kilcoole. Elaine started acting at a very young age. Her first role was playing Pinocchio in a school play when she was only five years old. Elaine Cassidy's career began to shine in 1996. She was nominated for the Most Promising Actress award at the Geneva Film Festival for her role in the movie The Sun, the Moon and the Stars. In 1999, she played the main character in Felicia's Journey. For this role, she was nominated for Best Actress at the 20th Genie Awards. In 2001, she was recognized as a "European Shooting Star," which means she was seen as a very promising international talent.
