Elizabeth Fama (born March 30, 1965) is a fantastic author who writes books for young adults, especially teens. She is most famous for her exciting fantasy novel, Monstrous Beauty, which came out in 2012. Her book Plus One was published in 2014.

Elizabeth Fama's Journey to Writing
Elizabeth Fama grew up in Chicago, Illinois. She went to the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. Later, she studied at the University of Chicago. She earned a bachelor's degree in biology in 1985. She also received two advanced degrees in economics and finance.
Elizabeth is the daughter of Eugene Fama, a famous economist. She is married to another economist, John H. Cochrane. They have four children together.

Elizabeth Fama's books have won some impressive awards! Her novel Monstrous Beauty was recognized by the American Library Association. It was included on their 2013 list of Best Fiction for Young Adults. This book also won a silver Odyssey Award for being one of the best audiobooks for children and young adults. It was even nominated for a Nerdies Book Award in 2012.
Her very first novel, Overboard, was published in 2002. This book was written for readers aged 11 and up. It tells a story set in Indonesia. Overboard was named a 2003 Best Book for Young Adults by the American Library Association. It was one of only eleven books chosen unanimously that year! The book also received an honor award for children's fiction in 2002–2003 from the Society of Midland Authors. Plus, it was nominated for five state readers' choice awards in different states like New Hampshire and Texas.
