Elizabeth McLaughlin grew up in a place called Ballygowan, near Newtownards in County Down, Northern Ireland. She's a bit of a mystery, as not much is known about her personal life.
A Statue's Journey
One of her sculptures, called Let the Life Flow Through, was displayed in a town called Finglas. After a big storm named Storm Ophelia, the statue was damaged and even went missing for a short time! The people in Finglas were very sad and tried to find Elizabeth to help. Luckily, the statue was found and fixed. When it was put back in its place, Elizabeth wasn't able to be there for the special ceremony.
