Elma van Haren's Writing Journey
Elma van Haren started her writing journey in 1988. Her very first book of poems was called Reis naar het welkom geheten. This book was so good that she won the first-ever C. Buddingh'-prijs for it! This is a special award for new poetry.
After that, she wrote many more poetry books. Some of her well-known collections include De wankel (1989) and Het schuinvallend oog (1991). In 1996, she published a collection called Grondstewardess. This book was also very successful. In 1997, she received the Jan Campert Prize for Grondstewardess. This is another big award for Dutch writers.
Award-Winning Poems
One of her poems, Het schitterende, was chosen as one of the best three poems in the year 2000. This poem came from her book Eskimoteren. It shows how her work was recognized as top quality.
