Elmar Faber (born April 1, 1934 – died December 3, 2017) was a German book publisher. A publisher is someone who helps create and print books for people to read. Elmar Faber was a very important person in the world of books in Germany.
He led a big publishing company called Aufbau-Verlag from 1983 to 1992. Later, in 1990, he started a new publishing company, Faber & Faber, with his son Michael. Elmar Faber was recognized for his work and received a special award called the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2007. This award is given to people who have done great things for their country.
He wrote a book about his own life, called an autobiography, which came out in 2014. Elmar Faber was born in a place called Deesbach in Thuringia, Germany. He passed away in Leipzig when he was 83 years old.
