Elsie Vera Cole (born July 27, 1885 – died January 2, 1967) was a talented English artist. She was known for her paintings, engravings, and for being an art teacher.

Elsie Cole's Early Life and Education
Elsie Cole was born in Braintree, Essex, England. Her father, William Cole, was a minister. Her mother was Ellen Holmes. Elsie went to school in Gravesend, Kent.
She loved art and decided to study it further. From 1908 to 1910, she attended the Norwich School of Art. Later, she continued her art studies at the Chelmsford School of Art. She finished her education there in 1919.
Becoming an Art Teacher
After completing her studies, Elsie Cole returned to the Norwich School of Art. This time, she came back as a teacher. She taught art there for many years, from 1919 until 1941.
While living in Norwich, Elsie also created a special book. It was called A Sketch book of Norwich and was published in 1920. This book showed her drawings of the city.
Travels and Exhibitions
Elsie Cole loved to travel and paint. She explored many places in Britain and Europe. Her artworks were shown in important exhibitions.
She exhibited her paintings with several art groups. These included the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and the Society of Women Artists. She also showed her work at the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol. The Norwich Art Circle also featured her art. From 1933, she regularly exhibited with the Ipswich Art Club.
Later Life
Elsie Vera Cole passed away in Diss, Norfolk, in 1967. She left behind a legacy as a dedicated artist and teacher.
