Emilio Caprile's Club Journey
Emilio Caprile started his football career at a young age. He was born in Genoa, Italy. His first big game in Serie A, Italy's top league, happened when he was just 17. He played for his hometown team, Genoa, in 1945.
Playing for Different Teams
After playing for Genoa, Caprile moved to Sestrese in Serie B, which is the second division. He also played for Legnano. Later, he joined one of Italy's most famous clubs, Juventus.
Winning with Juventus
With Juventus, Caprile helped his team win the championship in the 1951–52 Serie A season. Even though he only played five games and scored two goals, he was part of the winning squad. He later felt he wasn't playing enough.
Moving On and Retirement
After Juventus, Caprile played for Atalanta for two seasons. He then moved to Lazio and Como in Serie B. He eventually returned to Legnano in Serie C. Emilio Caprile played for 13 seasons before he retired from professional football.
Caprile's International Career
Emilio Caprile also played for the Italian national team. His first game for Italy was at the 1948 London Olympics. This was on August 2, 1948.
Olympic Debut and Goals
In his first international game, Italy played against the United States. Caprile scored a goal in this match, helping Italy win 9–0. He was only 19 years old at the time. This made him one of the youngest players ever to play for Italy.
He played another game in the same tournament. Italy lost 5–3 to Denmark, but Caprile scored another goal. These were his only two games for the Italian national team between 1948 and 1950. In total, he scored two goals for Italy.
The 1950 World Cup
Caprile was also part of Italy's team for the 1950 FIFA World Cup. He was the youngest player on the squad. However, he was one of four players who did not get to play in any games during the tournament.
