Emily Gould (born October 13, 1981) is an American author and novelist. She is also a blogger. Emily worked as an editor for a website called Gawker. She has written many short stories and novels. Emily is also the co-owner of an online bookstore called Emily Books. She runs it with her friend and fellow writer Ruth Curry.

Emily Gould went to Kenyon College. After that, she graduated from Eugene Lang College.
Emily's Career
Emily Gould started her writing career as a blogger. She was part of a blog called The Universal Review. Later, she started her own blog, Emily Magazine. She also wrote for Gawker as a freelance writer. This means she wrote for them without being a full-time employee.
Before joining the Gawker team, Emily was an editor at Disney's Hyperion company. Her writing for Gawker became very popular. It was even talked about in The New York Times. Emily left Gawker in November 2007.
Emily Gould wrote a book for young adults called Hex Education. She wrote it with Zareen Jaffery. This book was released in May 2007. She also wrote a collection of essays called And the Heart Says Whatever. This book came out in May 2010. Her novel Friendship was published in 2014. This book was based on some of her own experiences.
Emily is the co-owner of Emily Books, an online bookstore. She runs it with writer Ruth Curry. Emily Books also helps publish new books with Coffee House Press.
Emily's Personal Life
Emily Gould comes from a Jewish family. She married the novelist Keith Gessen in October 2014. They live in Brooklyn, New York.
In 2022, Emily was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. This is a health condition that affects a person's mood. She also has celiac disease. This means she cannot eat foods with gluten.
