She is known for playing recurring characters in several popular TV series. You might have seen her as Detective Jessica Angell in CSI: NY, Mia in Two and a Half Men, or Dr. Helen Bryce in Smallville. She also played FBI Special Agent Emma Barnes in Human Target and the powerful Morrigan in Lost Girl.

Emmanuelle Vaugier was born in Vancouver, Canada, to parents who had moved from France. She grew up in a home where French was spoken.

For ten years, she went to Crofton House School, a private school for girls. For her last two years of high school, she attended Magee Secondary School. This school had a special program for students who were also artists, athletes, or musicians, which allowed her to focus on her acting. She has an older brother named Jason.
