Endri Çekiçi is a professional footballer from Albania. He was born on November 23, 1996. Endri plays as a midfielder for the club Adanaspor and also for the Albania national team.

Endri Çekiçi's Club Journey

Starting Out: Early Career Steps

Endri Çekiçi began his football journey with his hometown club, Pogradeci, in 2008. He made his first professional appearance for the team when he was just 16 years old, on February 16, 2013. In that game, he came on as a substitute and helped his team win 1–0.

A month later, he started his first game. On May 4, 2013, he scored his first professional goal. He played six league games for Pogradeci during the 2012–13 season, scoring one goal.

In the summer of 2013, Endri joined Kategoria Superiore team Teuta. He played in a Europa League qualifier match for Teuta, coming on as a substitute.

Playing for Dinamo Zagreb

In February 2014, Endri moved to Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia. He signed his first professional contract with them on his 18th birthday, November 23, 2014. This contract kept him at the club until June 2019. Endri said it was the best birthday gift ever!

He made his first game appearance for Dinamo Zagreb on February 11, 2015, in a cup match. Later that month, he played his first league game. In one match, he won a penalty kick for his team but got injured and had to leave the game. He was out for three months because of an Achilles tendon injury.

Endri returned to play on May 2, 2015. His team, Dinamo Zagreb, won the 2014–15 Croatian First Football League title for the tenth time in a row that season. He played four league games and one cup game in his first season in Croatia.

During the 2015–16 season, on September 22, 2015, Endri scored his first goals for Dinamo Zagreb. He scored two goals in a big 7–1 win in the 2015–16 Croatian Football Cup.

Loan to Lokomotiva Zagreb

In January 2016, Endri Çekiçi joined Lokomotiva Zagreb on a loan deal that lasted a year and a half. He played his first game for Lokomotiva on February 12.

He scored his first league goal for Lokomotiva on March 13, 2016, against his parent club, Dinamo Zagreb. He also helped set up another goal in that game. Because of his great performance, he was named the Fans' Player of the Week. He finished the second half of the 2015–16 season with three goals in eleven games.

Moving to Other Clubs

After his time at Dinamo Zagreb and Lokomotiva, Endri continued his career with several other clubs:

  • In February 2019, he signed with the Slovenian club Olimpija Ljubljana.
  • On October 5, 2020, he joined the Turkish club Ankaragücü.
  • From 2021 to 2023, he played for Konyaspor.
  • In August 2023, he signed with Pendikspor.
  • Since 2025, he has been playing for Adanaspor.

Endri Çekiçi's International Career

Endri Çekiçi has represented Albania at different age levels, from youth teams to the senior national team.

Playing for Albania Under-17

Endri first joined the Albania under-17 squad in August 2012 for a friendly tournament.

In October 2011, he was called up for the qualifying rounds of the 2012 UEFA European Under-17 Championship. He played in all three matches, helping Albania qualify for the next stage, called the "elite round." In the elite round, he continued to play, but Albania was eventually eliminated.

He also played for the under-17 team in the qualifying rounds for the 2013 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.

Playing for Albania Under-19

Endri was then called up to the Albania under-19 team. He played his first game for them on November 12, 2013. He also played in the other matches for the 2014 European Championship qualifiers.

For the 2015 European Championship qualifiers, Endri was the captain of the Albania under-19 team. He led the team in all three of their matches.

Playing for Albania Under-21

Endri received his first call-up to the Albania under-21 squad in October 2014 for a friendly match.

In September 2015, he was called up for the 2017 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying matches. In his debut against Israel, he scored a penalty kick in the 84th minute, helping his team get a 1–1 draw. He continued to play as a starter in the remaining matches.

He was also part of the under-21 squad for the 2019 qualification tournament.

Playing for the Senior Team

In September 2020, Endri Çekiçi was selected for the Albania senior team for matches in the 2020–21 UEFA Nations League C. He made his debut for the senior team on October 14, 2020, coming on as a substitute in a goalless draw against Lithuania.
