The society was first called the Enid Blyton Literary Society. This helped it stand out from other groups with similar goals. Later, it changed its name to simply the Enid Blyton Society.

About the Society

The Enid Blyton Society was started to bring together fans of Enid Blyton's stories. It helps people learn more about her books and share their passion. The society aims to keep her memory and her wonderful stories alive for new generations.

The Society's Journal

One of the main ways the society shares information is through its magazine, the Enid Blyton Society Journal. The first issue came out in 1996 and had 32 pages. Tony Summerfield was the editor. Over the years, the journal has grown a lot. It now features colorful covers and usually has about ninety pages in each issue. It's a great way for members to read articles and news about Enid Blyton.

Enid Blyton Day Events

The society also hosts a special event called the 'Enid Blyton Day'. This day is very popular, with more than a hundred people attending each time. It's a chance for fans to meet and celebrate Enid Blyton's work. Famous guests often speak at these events. Past speakers have included Tim Rice and his daughter Eva, Gyles Brandreth, Marcus Harris, Gary Russell, Mary Cadogan, Sheila Ray, David Rudd, and Anne Digby.

Society Patrons

In 2000, some important people became official patrons of the Enid Blyton Society. These included Enid Blyton's daughters, Gillian Baverstock and Imogen Smallwood. Also, Barbara Stoney, who wrote a book about Enid Blyton's life, became a patron. Their support helps the society continue its work.
