Enrique Urbizu (born in 1962) is a Spanish film director and screenwriter. He was born in Bilbao, Spain. Urbizu is known for being one of the few Spanish directors who brought the style of film noir into Spanish movies. Film noir is a type of crime film that often has a dark, mysterious mood and features tough characters.
Urbizu studied media at the Universidad del País Vasco.
In 2011, he won a Goya Award for Best Director for his movie No Rest for the Wicked. The Goya Awards are the main national film awards in Spain.
