Erik Lincar was born in Oradea, Romania. He started his football career playing for youth teams before becoming a professional player. After retiring as a player, he moved into coaching.

Early Career and Steaua București Success
Erik Lincar began his professional journey with Steaua București in 1997. He joined them from the youth team of FC Girondins de Bordeaux in France. His time at Steaua București was very successful.
During his first season, Steaua București won the league title in 1997–98. They also won the Romanian Cup in 1999. In 2001, the team won the league title again. These wins showed he was a key part of a winning team.
Playing Abroad and Return to Romania
In 2002, Erik Lincar moved to Greece. He played for Panathinaikos and Akratitos. After his time in Greece, he played for FC Amkar Perm in Russia.
Later, Lincar returned to Romania. He played for Prefab Modelu. Here, he also started his coaching career as an assistant manager. In 2011, he became the manager of FC Hunedoara for a short time.
