Ernest E. Gooden (born February 4, 1900 – died October 19, 1934) was an American baseball player. People called him "Pud". He played as an infielder in the Negro leagues during the 1920s.
Ernest Gooden's Baseball Career
Ernest Gooden was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He started his professional baseball career in 1921. His first teams were the Homestead Grays and the Pittsburgh Keystones.
He played for the Pittsburgh Keystones again in 1922. In 1923, Gooden joined the Chicago American Giants for a short time. Later that year, he played for several other teams. These included the Toledo Tigers, the Cleveland Tate Stars, and the Detroit Stars.
Ernest Gooden passed away in Pittsburgh in 1934. He was 34 years old.
