Where is Estanzuelas?
Estanzuelas is found in the southeastern part of El Salvador. It is located near San Ildefonso in the San Vicente department. To its north is Mercedes Umaña, and to its west is Nueva Granada. The total area of Estanzuelas is about 71.73 square kilometers.
A Look at Estanzuelas' Past
Long ago, Estanzuelas was known by a different name: La Estancia Sola. This name came from the only large farm, or hacienda, that existed there. As the town grew and more people moved in, its name was changed to Estanzuelas. The town eventually divided into six main areas, called barrios. These areas are El Calvario, El Belen, Las Flores, San Antonio, El Centro, and San Pablo.
