Etablissement René Neymann is a French company that makes special breads. It was started way back in 1850. This makes it the oldest company in France that still produces unleavened bread. Unleavened bread is bread made without yeast, so it doesn't rise. The company also makes matzah, which is a type of flatbread.
Today, Jean-Claude Neymann leads the company. He is part of the fifth generation of his family to manage this business.

The Company's Journey
Etablissement René Neymann began in 1850. It was founded by Salomon Neymann in a town called Odratzheim.
Moving to Wasselonne
In 1870, Salomon Neymann and his son, Benoit Neymann, moved the company. They relocated to Wasselonne, another town in France.
Growing the Business
By 1930, the company started selling its unleavened bread to everyone. Before this, it was mainly sold for religious purposes. Production stopped for a while during the Second World War. But René Neymann, another family member, restarted the company in 1948.
