Euphorbia margalidiana is a cool species of flowering plant that belongs to the spurge family, known as Euphorbiaceae. This plant is special because it is endemic to the Balearic Islands, which means it only grows naturally there!
You can find it in its natural habitats, like the Mediterranean Matorral shrubland (a type of bushy area) and along rocky shores. It's an evergreen perennial or a small subshrub, which means it stays green all year round and lives for many years. It can grow up to about 1.2 meters (4 feet) tall and wide.
In the summer, Euphorbia margalidiana shows off its pretty yellow-green flowers for a long time. Gardeners really like this plant because it's super tough! It can handle many different conditions, including dry weather. Even though it can survive in cold temperatures down to -10°C (14°F), it grows best in places with mild weather.
Important Safety Tip
Like all plants in the Euphorbia family, Euphorbia margalidiana has a milky sap inside. If you cut or break the plant, this sap can come out. It might irritate your skin or eyes, so it's best to be careful and avoid touching it directly. Also, remember that all parts of this plant are poisonous if eaten, so never put any part of it in your mouth.
Special Award
This amazing plant has won a special award from the Royal Horticultural Society called the Award of Garden Merit. This award means it's an excellent plant for gardens and is highly recommended!
