In 1930, Eva married Kaj Pineus. He was a politician in Gothenburg. They had three children together. Eva finished school in Djursholm. After that, she studied languages in other countries, especially in France and the United States.

Working for Women's Rights

Before she got married, Eva Pineus worked at the Royal Swedish Library. After moving to Gothenburg, she became very active in the Liberal Party's Women's Association. She soon became its secretary.

From 1947 to 1952, Eva led the Gothenburg part of the Fredrika Bremer Association. This was a very important group that worked for women's rights. She helped build strong connections with women's groups in other Nordic countries.

Starting the KvinnSam Archive

In the late 1950s, two women named Asta Ekenvall and Rosa Malmström wanted to create a special archive. This archive would collect historical writings by and about women. They asked Eva Pineus to join them because she was a well-known women's rights activist.

In 1958, the three women started this important research archive. It became a key place for studying women's history. Asta Ekenvall was the leader, Rosa Malmström was the archivist (the person who organizes the records), and Eva Pineus was the secretary.

In 1971, the archive moved to the Gothenburg University Library. It was first called Kvinnohistoriska Samlingarna (Women's Literature Collection). Now, it is simply known as KvinnSam. Eva Pineus was very good at raising money. Thanks to her efforts, the archive could keep growing until a special job for an archive librarian was created at the university library in 1971.
