Fab Lab facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Fab Lab is a fun British television show made for young children. It helps them learn about science, nature, and technology in an exciting way. The show was first shown on the CBeebies channel in June 2002 and ran until October 2006. You could also watch it on CBeebies on BBC Two.

The program features two friendly pixies named Trixi and Dixi. They are puppets! There is also a clever dog called Prof. Prof is played by a person wearing a full dog suit.

What is the Fab Lab?

Trixi and Dixi live under the floor of a big garden shed. This shed is known as the "Fab Lab." Prof uses the shed as his special laboratory. Here, he explores different things like how rain falls or how plants grow. He explains facts about the world around us to the pixies. Sometimes, he uses a personal computer to show them cool videos.

Prof really loves green biscuits called "Pixiebicks." The pixies sometimes give him these treats to encourage him to explain things even more! At the end of each show, a whistle blows. Prof then says that "Mrs Whistle" (who is probably his owner) is calling him, and he leaves the shed.

Most episodes of the show are now hard to find. This is because the series has never been released on DVD.
