Faithia Williams, also known as Faithia Balogun, is a famous Nigerian actress, filmmaker, producer, and director. She was born on February 5, 1969. She is well-known for her roles in many Nigerian movies, especially in the Yoruba film industry.

Early Life and Education

Faithia Williams comes from Delta State in Nigeria. She was born in Ikeja, Lagos State, on February 5, 1969. She grew up in a large family.

Faithia went to Maryland Primary School and Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School in Lagos. She earned her school certificate there. Later, she studied at Kwara State Polytechnic for a diploma. In 2016, Faithia went to Olabisi Onabanjo University to study filmmaking.

Faithia Williams' Acting Journey

Faithia became an actress by chance. Her uncle, Alhaji Fatai Teniola, asked her to fill in for an actress who didn't show up for a movie production. This is how Williams got her first role in a film called "Ta lo pa chief."

Over the years, she has acted in, produced, and directed many Nigerian films. She is known for her talent and hard work in the movie industry.

Faithia Williams has won several important awards for her acting.

  • In 2008, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for the Most Outstanding Actress Indigenous. Her movie Iranse Aje also won the best indigenous film of the year.

Faithia Williams was married to fellow Nigerian actor Saheed Balogun. They have two children together, a son and a daughter. Faithia also has another son from an earlier relationship. During her marriage, she changed her name from Faith Williams to Faithia Balogun.
