Early Life and Beginnings
Faizon Love was born in Santiago de Cuba on June 14, 1968. He grew up in different places like Southeast San Diego, California and Newark, New Jersey. This was because his father worked in the U.S. Navy. Faizon often called himself a "military brat" because of this. He finished high school at Morse High School in San Diego.
Faizon started his career as a stand-up comedian when he was only 15 years old. By the age of 19, he made his first acting appearance in an off-Broadway play.
Acting Career Highlights
Faizon Love's first movie role was in Bebe's Kids. He used his voice to play the comedian Robin Harris, who had passed away before the movie was made. Faizon was very good at sounding like Harris.
After that, he appeared in The Meteor Man, starring Robert Townsend. Robert Townsend then cast Faizon in a TV show called The Parent 'Hood, where he played Wendell Wilcox.
Faizon continued to act in many movies, including Elf, Don't Be a Menace, and The Fighting Temptations. In 2001, he appeared in music videos for artists like Ludacris and Lil Jon & The East Side Boys.
In 2004, Faizon lent his voice to the popular video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. He played Sean "Sweet" Johnson, who was the leader of the Grove Street Families and the older brother of the game's main character. He also co-starred in the comedy movie Couples Retreat in 2009. This film was about four couples who went to a tropical island for therapy.
Later, in 2012, Faizon Love appeared in a funny trailer for The Wire: The Musical. He also started appearing in commercials for Boost Mobile, promoting their new phones.
