What's the Story?
The show starts with a funny mistake that sends our heroes on an unexpected space adventure. Two workers, Barney and Junior, are getting a rocket ready for a mission. Junior is supposed to press the "lunch" button to load food. But oops! He accidentally hits the "launch" button instead.
Suddenly, their rocket blasts off into space! This sends them on many exciting and silly adventures. They visit strange alien planets and meet all sorts of weird creatures. Their spaceship, which looks like a NASA lunar module, often gets captured by aliens. Or it just lands on a new, unknown world.
On each planet, Barney and Junior, or sometimes their spaceship, are taken by the aliens. They usually have to complete some strange task or mission. After their wild adventure, they always find their way back to their spaceship. Then, they are off to their next exciting journey across the galaxy!
Meet the Characters
The show features a small but memorable cast of characters.
Junior: The Clever Worker
Bob Denver plays Junior. He's a maintenance worker for NASA. Junior has grey hair and might seem a bit silly at first. But he's actually very clever and often finds smart ways to solve problems.
Barney: The Grumpy Co-worker
Chuck McCann plays Barney. He is Junior's co-worker. Barney is a bit plump and can be quite grumpy. He often gets annoyed by Junior's mistakes, but they are a great team.
Honk: The Alien Friend
Patty Maloney plays Honk. Honk is a small, furry alien. Instead of talking, Honk makes honking sounds. These sounds come from a special horn on top of Honk's head. Honk becomes a good friend to Barney and Junior on their space travels.
