On Farmen, contestants pretend to live 100 years in the past. They work on an old-fashioned farm without modern tools. Each week, they learn and complete different farm chores. At the end of each week, two contestants face a challenge. One person has to leave the farm.

How the Game Works

Farmen is a reality game show. People live together on a farm. They must work hard and learn old farming ways. This means no phones, no internet, and no modern comforts!

Weekly Challenges

Every week, the contestants get new tasks. These tasks are like those done on a farm a century ago. They might need to milk cows, plant crops, or build things. Completing tasks helps them stay in the game.

The Boss of the Farm

Each week, one person becomes the "Storbonde" (Big Farmer or Boss). This person is in charge of the farm. They decide who does which jobs. Being the boss is a powerful role in the game.

Facing the Duel

At the end of the week, two contestants must compete. They are called the "førstekjempe" (first competitor) and "andrekjempe" (second competitor). The second competitor chooses the challenge. The loser of this challenge must leave the farm.

Rules of the Farm

To make the game fair, there are clear rules for everyone.

  • Each week, every person has a role: Storbonde (boss), førstekjempe (first competitor), or andrekjempe (second competitor).
  • No one can bring anything modern onto the farm. This means no phones, no music players, and no outside food.
  • The second competitor chooses one of six different challenges. The first and second competitors then compete in this challenge. The person who loses leaves the farm.

Celebrity Version

The original Farmen show had everyday people as contestants. But there is also a special version called Farmen - Kjendis. "Kjendis" means "Celebrities" in Norwegian. This version features famous people competing on the farm. It started in 2017 and has been very popular.
