Farmer, Missouri facts for kids
Farmer is a small, unincorporated community located in Pike County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town does. Instead, it's usually governed by the county.
History of Farmer
The community of Farmer was officially planned and mapped out, a process called "platting," in 1885. It was named after an early settler in the area, Moses Allen Farmer. Before the community was platted, a post office was opened in Farmer in 1883. This post office helped people send and receive mail until it closed down in 1906.
