February is a small, unincorporated community located in Washington County, Tennessee, in the United States. An unincorporated community means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
History of February
The community of February got its name from a post office that opened there a long time ago.
How February Got Its Name
In 1884, a post office was set up in this area. It was named "February." The story goes that a local postal official, whose last name was Mr. February, gave the community his name. The post office stayed open for about 15 years, closing down in 1899.
