Federico Jorge Sacchi (born September 4, 1936 – died November 7, 2023) was a famous Argentine football player. He played as a central defender, which is a key position in a team's defense. Sacchi was also a member of the Argentina national team, playing 15 games for his country between 1960 and 1965. He is recognized in the Argentine Football Association Hall of Fame for his great career.

Playing for Clubs
Federico Sacchi started his football journey at a club called Tiro Federal. In 1958, he joined Newell's Old Boys, where he played for a few years.
Winning Titles
In 1961, Sacchi moved to Racing Club. He had a fantastic first season there, helping his team win the Argentine Primera, which is Argentina's top football league.
Later, in 1965, he joined another big club, Boca Juniors. Again, he made an immediate impact, winning another league title in his very first season with Boca Juniors. In 1967, he played for Sporting Cristal in Peru.
Playing for Argentina
Sacchi proudly represented his country, playing 15 matches for the Argentina national team. He even scored one goal for them! He was also part of the Argentina squad that played in the 1962 FIFA World Cup, a huge international football tournament.
Life After Playing
After he stopped playing football, Federico Sacchi became a coach. He worked as an assistant coach to César Luis Menotti, who was a very famous coach. Sacchi also managed several teams on his own, including Tigre and San Martín de Tucumán. He also helped train young players at clubs like Racing Club and Atlético de Rafaela.

Federico Sacchi passed away on November 7, 2023, at the age of 87. He is remembered as a talented defender and a two-time league champion in Argentina.
