Ferry (also known as Clio) is a small, unincorporated community located in Greene County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. An "unincorporated community" means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. It's part of the larger county.
A Look Back: The History of Ferry (Clio)
This area, which we now know as Ferry, was first called Clio. People started settling here a very long time ago, around 1796. That's over 200 years ago!
For many years, Clio had its own post office. A post office is where people send and receive letters and packages. The Clio post office was open from 1849 until 1864. Later, the community's name changed to Ferry, and it had its own post office too, from 1892 until 1901. Even though these post offices are no longer there, they were important places for the community back then.
